A Hematologist & heamto – oncologist with more than 30 years experience in cancer therapy and care. Dr. Ramanathan completed his post graduation in Internal medicine at LTMMC Mumbai and subsequently underwent training in Hematology & hemato-oncology at CMC, Vellore. He worked as a consultant in the said field at KMCH, Coimbatore for 12 years and quit in 2007 to be full fledged with the Vasantha Memorial Trust & Vasantha Memorial Cancer Centre, Chennai. He also visits several hospitals in Chennai.

He has been the pivotal guiding force of the Vasantha Memorial Trust. His prowess as a cancer care professional has helped him reach out to the most deserving sections of the community. From devising the functionality model of the trust, to ensuring personal attention to each of the cancer patients the trust supports, to overseeing the administration of the trust, to motivating the volunteers, to appealing for funds, Dr. Ramanathan’s devotion to the cause is evident in the smiling faces patients he has helped through cancer. His ability to straddle the multi-disciplined functioning of the trust comes from his single minded focus on the cause: to take away all the negatives associated with cancer.
